Not sure really as I have had a lot of loyal clients for some time before social media - it can be used to fill in a few gaps occasionally.

It’s the best way for people to see my work and what I do, people can easily get in contact with me to make a new booking, I can get new clients from posting on social media, for people to post recommendations etc. I can also learn so many new tips and tricks from lash groups and other lash artists all over the world.

I’ve posted more frequently, became active on more social media platforms such as Instagram, used social media to my advantage for example doing competitions requires people to share my pictures reaching a bigger audience, however this also means more competition.

I’m 21 y/o and I’ve got a First Class BA Honours degree one Specialist Hair & Media Makeup. Once I graduated I quit my part-time job to become self-employed and focus on my beauty business doing makeup and nails.
How important is social media to your business?
Extremely important.
Why is social media important to you and your work?
It’s a platform where you can promote your work & advertise your services. People will show interest and like your work/style which then leads to future bookings and appointments. So many people ranging from all ages & all areas can follow your business accounts on different platforms and keep updated with offers & services so you can form a good clientele!
How have you adapted your work as the use of social media for marketing has increased?
If I’m honest, I haven’t adapted my work or changed it in the slightest regardless of increase of marketing over social media! I’ve always stayed true to myself & kept my work the same!
Do you think your social media presence has had an impact on brand loyalty ? (returning customers etc).
No, I believe social media is the initial place to get new clients but once they become a client the only reason they’ll return is because of you as a person & if they are happy with the service. Let’s be honest social media can be a very fake & edited place as some things portrayed on social media aren’t real! So I believed the presence on social media doesn’t majorly impact brand loyalty! However, I do think showing presence new makeup styles & nail designs does keep customers intrigued to a certain degree but it does mainly come down to you as a person! Social media just works as an aid alongside yourself.
